I’ve been on a rec swim team the last few summers, so I know how to swim, but I’m not as hardcore as some of these guys. A bunch of them are on year-round competitive teams, and here I am still trying to nail my strokes and not gas out after two laps. This is my first time on a “real” swim team, and it feels kinda intense.

So, here’s the deal—apparently, we have to wear Speedos for the swim team. You know, those super tiny swim briefs. I don’t even own a pair yet! What’s the big deal with them anyway? Are they actually better than regular swim trunks? Do they make you faster or something? I’ve got no clue.

I remember watching swimmers and divers on TV when I was younger—like during the Olympics—and they were always wearing Speedos. I always thought they looked pretty cool, how they fit the guys’ bodies and all. But up until now, I’ve never had a chance to try one on myself. Guess I’ll find out soon enough…
