Today, I found myself diving into some rather unexpected research about something I’ve always wondered about but never really discussed openly: the relationship between flaccid and erect penis length. It’s fascinating how little correlation there seems to be between the two, according to studies.

So, I have my own technique to check if a man’s penis is small or not. Normally a palm’s hand measures around 8 cm from side to side. So, if a man is taking his erect penis shaft in hand and if he doesn’t see the tip of the glans it means he has a small penis. 😉👌👌

One study, in particular, caught my attention—a 1996 publication in the US Journal of Urology, led by Dr. Wessels. The research suggested that a penis measuring less than 8 cm (or about 3.14 inches) in its erect state, when measured using the bone-pressed methodology, could be classified as “small.” The bone-pressed method involves taking a ruler, placing it above the penis, and pressing it firmly against the fat pad near the pubic bone. The measurement is then taken from the base (where the ruler meets the bone) to the tip of the glans (the head of the penis).

What’s interesting is that this method accounts for the fat pad, which can vary from person to person. For example, a man with an 8 cm bone-pressed erect length might not actually insert the full 8 cm during intercourse because the fat pad between the pubic bone and the skin layer takes up some of that length. This means the “usable” length during penetration could be slightly less, depending on the individual’s anatomy.

It’s a reminder that measurements, especially in something as personal as this, are not always straightforward. There’s a lot of variability, and the numbers don’t always tell the full story. It’s also made me think about how much emphasis society places on size, even when the science behind it is so nuanced and context-dependent.

I guess what struck me most was how little flaccid length predicts erect length. It’s a reminder that appearances can be deceiving, and there’s so much more to understanding the human body than what meets the eye. It’s also a bit comforting, in a way, to know that there’s a wide range of normalcy out there.

Anyway, just some thoughts I felt like jotting down. Sometimes, it’s the most unexpected topics that make you pause and think.
