Today, right after the final bell, I headed straight to the local swimming pool. It’s not too far from school—about a 700-meter walk. As soon as I walked in, the smell of chlorine hit me like a ton of bricks. I’ve always competed outdoors, so I never really noticed it this strong before. It was kind of overwhelming, but in a weirdly familiar way.
I dropped my bag and plopped down on the bleachers. A few of the guys from the team started trickling in from the locker room. We only have a boys’ team, and I think there were around 15 of us there today. Everyone was wearing those tiny swimsuits—Speedos, I think they’re called? They’re basically like low-slung nylon briefs, kinda like… well, you know. Let’s just say they leave very little to the imagination. Some of the guys were definitely showing off more than others, if you catch my drift. I couldn’t help but wonder if I was in the right place, haha.
During practice, I couldn’t help but notice how some of the guys looked standing on the starting blocks. A couple of them were, uh, really filling out their suits, if you know what I mean. Like, it was almost distracting how much they were pushing the limits of those waistbands. Not gonna lie, I kinda liked it. Maybe a little too much.
Anyway, practice went pretty well overall. I’m still getting used to the whole swimming pool vibe, but it’s cool being part of the team. Definitely an interesting day, to say the least.
