Some enjoyable moments

I stood in the bathroom, steam still clinging to the mirror, the air thick and warm around me. The towel hung low on my hips, and water slid lazily down my back. I wiped the mirror with my hand, and for a second, I just looked at myself.

I’d seen my reflection a thousand times before, but this time, something felt different. My shoulders were broader than I remembered, my chest a little less flat, like it was slowly waking up to some new shape. The line of hair below my belly button was darker now, leading into a thicker patch I hadn’t really paid attention to before.

There was hair under my arms too — not just a few strands, but real, soft curls. My legs had grown darker, the hair thicker, more defined. I used to be smooth all over — now, my skin looked… older. My jaw was still soft, but there were hints of something sharper underneath, and the faintest shadow above my lip that hadn’t been there last summer.

I tilted my head, studying my face. My eyes looked the same, but maybe a little heavier. Not tired — just different. Like they’d started seeing things they didn’t quite know how to understand yet.

I didn’t feel like a man. Not really. But I wasn’t a boy anymore either. And standing there, warm water drying on my skin, I realized I was somewhere in between — changing in ways I could feel, even if I couldn’t explain them
